Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Finance Technology) to join our Enterprise Finance Technology team. This role designs, builds, and optimizes data architecture and pipelines powering financial decision-making across the organization.

The Senior Engineer will support consolidation, planning, forecasting, and reporting with data engineering and business intelligence expertise to ensure data is trusted and actionable. Mentoring junior staff is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or equivalent experience as described in the listing.
• 4+ years of hands-on data engineering, BI, and enterprise analytics across multiple domains.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with data integration tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica).
• Strong data modeling, data access, schemas, and storage techniques within Snowflake.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines in cloud environments (AWS, Snowflake).
• Experience with ETL/ELT patterns, DW concepts, and data orchestration tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Snowflake, AWS, dbt, and/or Informatica.
• Ensure data integrity with automated quality checks, regression testing, and anomaly monitoring.
• Independently plan, manage, and deliver small to mid-size projects end-to-end and contribute to larger programs.
• Support dashboard and reporting development using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to deliver KPI insights.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development, validation, and analysis workflows.
• Collaborate with finance and analytics teams to optimize processes and reduce technical debt.
