Job summary

Imperial Brady is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Microsoft Fabric stack. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, data modeling across lakehouse layers, and governance to support reporting and analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with ownership of production data pipelines.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience, or equivalent Azure Synapse or Databricks experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Spark SQL for data transformation.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and of Delta Lake and medallion architecture patterns.
• Strong source control (Git) and CI/CD experience for data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and security practices, especially around PII, financial, and HR data.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from diverse source systems.
• Own data modeling across bronze, silver, and gold layers including star schemas and SCD handling.
• Optimize pipeline and query performance with partitioning, indexing, and Delta/Parquet strategies.
• Enforce data governance and security practices for sensitive data (PII, financial, HR).
• Collaborate with analytics and BI to ensure data is reliable, well-modeled, and timely.
• Deploy Fabric artifacts through source control and CI/CD, maintaining parity across environments.
• Ensure gold/silver layers meet BI needs and assist with report requests.
