Job summary

Career Movement is seeking a senior data engineer to help build a new data platform on Microsoft Fabric in Santa Fe Springs, CA. You will design notebooks and pipelines, own the code-first architecture, and push modernization of legacy workflows while collaborating with a tight-knit team.

You will influence technical direction, ensure data quality and reliability, and deliver enterprise-wide analytics capabilities with immediate business impact.

Qualifications

• Hands on production experience with Microsoft Fabric (certification alone is not sufficient)
• Strong background in SQL Server and the Azure data ecosystem
• Demonstrated comfort working in code and notebooks rather than drag and drop tooling
• Experience building data platforms from scratch, not just maintaining existing systems
• Strong communication skills and comfort operating within a small, high visibility team

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and notebooks within Microsoft Fabric to support enterprise wide reporting and analytics
• Lead the architecture and rollout of a new, code first data platform from the ground up
• Migrate and modernize existing data workflows out of legacy and drag and drop tools
• Collaborate closely with a small engineering team, contributing to technical direction and best practices
• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure the platform supports evolving reporting and analytics needs
• Maintain data quality, performance, and reliability across pipelines as the platform scales
