Job summary

Imperial Dade is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions across the modern data platform. You will own end-to-end data pipelines on the Microsoft Fabric stack and collaborate with analytics, BI, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data with the right grain and freshness.

The role emphasizes production ownership, data governance, and performance optimization, with a focus on PII, financial, and HR data security and auditable change

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering with ownership of production data pipelines.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience, or equivalent Azure Synapse or Databricks with intent to specialize in Fabric.
• Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Spark SQL for data transformation.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and Delta Lake and medallion architecture patterns.
• Strong source control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines with proper branching and PR discipline.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and security practices (PII, financial, HR).
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build robust ETL and ELT pipelines ingesting data from diverse sources.
• Own data modeling across bronze, silver, and gold, including star schemas and SCD handling.
• Optimize pipeline and query performance with partitioning, indexing, and Delta/Parquet formats.
• Enforce data governance, including sensitive data handling and access controls.
• Drive defects to their source and document interim handling for audits.
• Deploy Fabric artifacts via CI/CD keeping Dev/UAT/Prod in parity.
