Travelers seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Hartford to accelerate analytics transformation. You will design, build, and operate data solutions enabling AI, ML, and BI initiatives across the enterprise. Lead design decisions, mentor teammates, and ensure scalable data delivery aligned with governance and quality standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, cloud proficiency (AWS/Azure), and delivering production-ready data products while guiding end users in a complex analytics environment.

Qualifications

• Data Pipeline & Processing: Experience with data pipelining, data processing, and data warehousing.
• Modern Data Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and DBT.
• ETL & Integration Tools: Proficiency with ETL tools such as AbInitio or Informatica, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Technical Leadership: Demonstrated technical leadership in a large enterprise.
• AI & Workflow Innovation: Experience leveraging AI tools to drive workflow efficiency.
• Technical Expertise & Delivery: Knowledge of cloud platforms, programming languages, and modern software practices.
• Problem Solving & Domain Knowledge: Strong problem solver with domain expertise and initiative.
• Communication & Leadership: Ability to translate concepts and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and operationalize complex data solutions, correct problems, apply transformations, and data quality solutions.
• Design complex data solutions, incorporating new data sources and ensuring consistency across projects.
• Perform analysis of complex sources to determine value and usage for analytics.
• Incorporate data governance, data security and data quality.
• Act as a data and technology subject matter expert to support delivery and educate end users.
• Perform data and system analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents.
• Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on data products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
