Transamerica’s Senior Data Engineer role sits within IT Operations and focuses on designing and supporting systems for data collection, storage, processing, and analysis to drive enterprise decisions.

You will architect data infrastructure, build scalable pipelines, and deliver data APIs for analytical models. A strong SQL background, cloud/on-prem experience, and collaboration across teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering, or relevant technical field.
• 4+ years in data engineering, analytics, data warehousing, BI, or data integration.
• 3+ years building big data and real-time streaming architectures in cloud/on-premise.
• Strong SQL, Linux, and DevOps experience; familiar with data governance and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, analytics and product owners in agile.
• Architect and support cloud and on-prem data infrastructure and tools.
• Design scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time data delivery.
• Build data APIs and services for analytics models and operations.
• Assist in selecting data tools and ensuring data quality and lineage.
• Apply best practices for master/reference data and metadata management.
