Transamerica in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect and support data infrastructure for batch and real-time analytics. You will collaborate with data scientists, analytics teams, and product owners to design scalable data pipelines and APIs that enable data-driven decisions.

The role requires strong SQL, cloud and on‑prem architectures, and experience with DevOps practices. You will contribute to data quality, governance, and delivery of analytical solutions across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• 4 years of data engineering, analytics, warehousing, BI, DB administration, and data integration experience.
• 3 years building big data and real-time streaming architectures in on-prem and cloud.
• 2 years building and administering large-scale distributed applications.
• 2 years Linux operations and scripting.
• 2 years of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• SQL expertise for profiling and analysis.
• Familiarity with data science techniques.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and prioritize tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support cloud and on-prem data infrastructure.
• Design scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time data.
• Build data APIs and delivery services for operations and ML.
