Job summary

Disney Experiences Careers in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver data products and scalable data warehouse solutions. You will build ELT pipelines, work with AWS, Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow, and collaborate with Data Product Managers and Engineers to enable data-driven decisions across the DX org.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL, and hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, developing large data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills for writing queries and building performant datasets.
• Hands-on experience with AWS tool stack to ingest/process data.
• Experience with Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery.
• Expert level SQL/T-SQL and query tuning.
• Agile and Scrum experience.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with data integration toolsets (Airflow) and building data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Data Modeling techniques and Data Warehousing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and growth of our Data Products and Data Warehouses around Content Performance and Content Engagement data.
• Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, build ELT pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-premise, hybrid).
• Use our tech stack including AWS, Snowflake, Data Build Tool (DBT) and UC4/Airflow to transform, store, retrieve, and distribute Cast & Operations data.
• Help architect data solutions/frameworks and use dimensional modeling to define data assets in a medallion structure.
• Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Architects and Data Engineers to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance.
• Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support a dedicated focus on our customers (Data Science, Data Analytics and Business teams).
• Be an active participant and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure health and process improvements for your team.
