Job summary

Regal Cinemas, Inc. in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines across on-prem and cloud sources. You will own the end-to-end data path from ingestion to governed warehouse models and CI/CD for data workflows.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data accessibility, quality, and actionable insights, while mentoring junior engineers and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc).
• Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse platform (e.g., Snowflake).
• Experience with REST APIs, cloud analytics exports, and vendor file feeds (SFTP, CSV).
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing solutions.
• Experience with Python and testing/code quality practices.
• Experience with dbt and data ingestion frameworks (e.g., Fivetran).
• Cloud platforms (Azure) and orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Data governance, security, and compliance (RBAC, masking, PII).
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines.
• Build and maintain SQL-based transformation models in dbt, including incremental processing.
• Architect and implement data models, dimensional models, and aggregates.
• Provision and maintain warehouse infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements.
• Optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure data quality with automated testing and reconciliation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Maintain data governance, security controls, including RBAC and masking.
• Migrate legacy data and reporting systems to current platform capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices.
• Create comprehensive documentation of data processes.
