Job summary

Ryde Technologies, LLC seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead secure, cloud-based mission systems for federal work. You will own end-to-end technical design across full-stack, microservices, and AWS, guiding engineers through delivery while maintaining NIST/FedRAMP/DHS compliance.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, architecture for complex distributed systems, and collaboration with government stakeholders to drive strategy and discipline across the program.

Qualifications

• Eight years of Information Assurance experience.
• Ability to pass a full background check and obtain a Public Trust 6C.
• Experience designing secure, cloud-based architectures for federal environments (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, DHS 4300A).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture for secure, cloud-based mission applications across front-end, back-end, data, and AWS layers.
• Define and maintain reference architectures, ADRs, and API contracts.
• Architect microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Camel with REST, GraphQL, XML, and JSON integration patterns.
• Direct front-end architecture using React, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS; establish component standards and accessibility.
• Design database schemas and data engineering across relational and NoSQL platforms; data modeling and migration strategies.
• Architect AWS deployments (EC2, ECS, RDS Postgres, S3, Lambda, ALBs) with cost-optimization and resilience.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership: code reviews, IaC (Terraform), design reviews, and cross-team issue resolution.
• Establish CI/CD and DevSecOps standards with Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and Vault for secure build/deploy/release workflows.
• Embed security/compliance controls (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, DHS 4300A) in architecture and ATO/POA&M remediation.
• Mentor engineers and engage government stakeholders to present architectural decisions and roadmaps.
