Job summary

BDR Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support a DoD mission-critical program. You will design and maintain enterprise data architectures, pipelines, and governance to enable secure, scalable analytics across controlled environments.

The role requires leadership, collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and government stakeholders, and hands-on work with SQL/NoSQL, big data stacks, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps practices to deliver trusted data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to data engineering.
• 8-10 years of Data Engineering experience with DoD, IC, or Federal programs.
• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise data architectures and pipelines.
• Strong SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT expertise.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka; cloud-based data solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficient in Python/Java/Scala; secure data management in regulated environments.
• Knowledge ofData Governance, Data Quality, and MDM concepts.
• Ability to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data architectures and pipelines.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
• Design data models, databases, and workflows for performance and security.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions for evolving requirements.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to security and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with architects, software engineers, data scientists, and analysts.
• Support data governance, quality management, and data stewardship initiatives.
• Contribute to DevSecOps, CI/CD, and containerized deployments.
