Strategic Innovation Group LLC seeks a Senior Data Engineer to lead the data core of a new federal analytics platform. You will own the physical data model, ingestion architecture, and reusable connectors deployed in an on‑premises FedRAMP Moderate environment, collaborating with a cross‑functional team to deliver a Minimum Viable Product and scalable future expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering with 3+ years as technical lead on a production data platform.
• Expert SQL and PostgreSQL data modeling including partitioning and performance tuning.
• Strong Python for pipeline development and orchestration.
• Experience designing reusable ingestion from heterogeneous sources with schema validation and data-quality checks.
• Experience deploying pipelines in containerized environments with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the centralized data layer in PostgreSQL with a governed schema.
• Architect scalable ingestion pipelines in Python using orchestration tools.
• Build configuration-driven connectors (APIs, flat files, SFTP) deployable via CI/CD.
• Implement PII anonymization and data access controls per NIST SP 800-53 Moderate controls.
• Define analytic rules and document data criteria for transparency.
• Lead data quality defect detection and remediation throughout the lifecycle.
• Capture metadata and data lineage; expose data currency indicators to UI.
• Set coding, reviews, testing, and documentation standards; mentor team members.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks; produce runbooks.
