Job summary

Qualifyze is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and evolve our data platform. You will own key pipelines and data products end-to-end, collaborating with product and backend teams to deliver accurate, timely data for product decisions.

You’ll design, implement, and maintain production data pipelines across operational databases and the analytical platform, applying strong software engineering practices throughout the data lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and robust ETL/ELT pipelines with strong testing (pytest).
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, including complex queries, indexing, and execution plans.
• Hands-on experience with dbt in a layered project structure.
• Experience with Dagster or similar orchestrators (Airflow) for production workflows.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and running data services.
• Solid data modeling skills and understanding of operational vs. analytical schemas.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and data products.
• Manage features and pipelines end-to-end from schema design to ingestion, transformation, and delivery of analytical datasets.
• Contribute to the architecture of the data platform and evaluate technical trade-offs with the team.
• Apply and improve standards for data modeling, quality, testing, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into well-scoped data solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve pipeline incidents; improve observability and reliability over time.
• Share knowledge with the team and mentor fellow engineers through pairing and code reviews.
