Overflow is a Series C growth-stage tech company delivering a vertical fintech and SaaS platform for churches, nonprofits, and mission-driven institutions. We are hiring our first dedicated Data Engineer to lay the foundation of our data and analytics ecosystem.

Your first 90 days focus on establishing a robust BI and Data Governance layer so Sales, CS, Finance, and Success have governed access to the metrics they need, while you design storage and OLAP for financial transactions and support AI

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience at fast-growing tech/fintech/SaaS.
• Experience designing OLAP schemas for financial and business metrics.
• Proficient with AWS data services and change data capture pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of NoSQL and relational SQL databases.
• Able to translate Finance/Sales needs into scalable data models.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and own core data infrastructure including pipelines, warehouses, models and orchestration.
• Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines delivering clean, reliable data across functions.
• Maintain a unified data layer across Engineering, Product, Finance, Revenue, Success and Operations.
• Design intuitive data models enabling self-service analytics and OLAP views.
• Build dashboards and realtime visibility into metrics like total giving and revenue.
• Collaborate with Head of AI on storage schemas for ML, RAG, and agent memory.
• Establish Databricks Unity Catalog governance, access controls, and documentation.
• Implement data quality monitoring, alerts, and validation for trustworthiness.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Finance, Payment Ops, Support, and RevOps.
• Educate teams on data best practices and drive data-informed decisions.
• Surface data-driven insights to influence product roadmap and opportunities.
