Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale the trusted data foundation powering decision-making across the organization. You will champion data quality, governance, and reliability while designing data models, pipelines, and metric systems that provide timely insights.

You will collaborate with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering teams to translate complex business needs into scalable data solutions, driving AI-enabled innovations and maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software/data engineering experience.
• 5+ years in data architecture, data modeling, and metadata management.
• Strong autonomy and ability to own ambiguous, high-impact problems.
• Deep SQL expertise and scalable data pipelines.
• Experience with Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, Hive.
• Familiar with SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-impact questions and translate into scalable data models and metrics.
• Collaborate with data analytics, data science, and engineering teams to build foundational datasets.
• Design, build, and scale data models and pipelines that transform data from multiple sources into trusted datasets.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of metrics and data products from exploration to production and maintenance.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate productivity while ensuring data quality and maintainability.
• Lead and influence the data strategy across multiple teams, domains, and use cases.
• Expand access to trusted company metrics for self-service analytics.
• Establish, document, and promote data engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the organization.
