Salesforce is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build trusted data foundations powering decision-making across the company. You will design and scale data models, pipelines, and metric systems while championing data quality, governance, and reliability.

You'll collaborate with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering to translate complex business problems into scalable data solutions, transforming billions of records into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or data engineering experience with data architecture, data modeling, and metadata management.
• Own ambiguous, high-impact problems from framing to technical strategy and outcomes.
• Autonomy, resourcefulness, and creativity navigating constraints.
• Strong SQL and scalable data pipelines for large datasets.
• Architect data models, schemas, and workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
• Influence technical direction across teams without formal authority.
• Proficient in Python or Java for data engineering tasks.
• Hands-on with Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, and Hive.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL stores; diverse modeling approaches.
• Familiar with data governance, SDLC, and Agile practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models and metrics.
• Build foundational datasets aligned with business strategy for self-service analytics.
• Design, build, and scale data models and pipelines transforming multiple sources into trusted datasets.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of metrics and data products from exploration to production and adoption.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate engineering productivity while upholding data quality.
• Lead data strategy across teams, aligning scalable technical foundations and investments.
• Expand access to trusted company metrics enabling faster, consistent decision-making.
• Establish and promote data engineering best practices across the organization.
• Mentor engineers and provide hands-on technical guidance to raise the technical bar.
