Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Principal Data Engineer for AgentExchange to design, scale, and maintain enterprise-grade data infrastructure and real-time pipelines powering product analytics and autonomous AI agents.

You will collaborate with decision scientists, software engineers, and product leaders to translate complex business needs into robust data systems, ensuring reliability and scalable analytics at an enterprise level.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on data engineering in enterprise-scale platforms.
• Expertise in distributed computing, data lakehouse architectures, and cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with Airflow or Dagster.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java; SQL tuning; CI/CD; Docker; IaC.
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/SE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Data Architecture & Strategy: Architect, build, and scale foundational data platforms, lakehouses, and high-throughput pipelines.
• Agentic Infrastructure & Orchestration: Design and deploy production-grade data pipelines, feature stores, and event-driven architectures for autonomous AI agents.
• Platform Excellence & Reliability: Establish end-to-end data governance, quality frameworks, lineage tracking, and monitoring for zero-downtime data assets.
• Cross-Functional Engineering Leadership: Serve as principal technical authority on data architecture with decision scientists, software engineers, and product managers.
• Technical Roadmap Ownership: Co-own long-term data technology roadmap for AgentExchange, anticipate bottlenecks and evolve architecture.
• Mentorship & Engineering Rigor: Set standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, system design, and mentor engineers across the org.
