Datavant is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen reporting, analytics, and data governance across our healthcare data ecosystem. You will lead design of scalable data platforms, mentor engineers, and translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions.

You will work with Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, Terraform, and cloud-native tech to deliver reliable data products. A strong cross-functional collaboration mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive software/data engineering experience with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable data platform infrastructure and modeling patterns for reporting and analytics.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives balancing scalability, reliability, cost, and delivery speed.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for data modeling, orchestration, and IaC.
• Guide architecture decisions and act as escalation point for complex challenges.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Operations to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Build reliable data workflows using Python, SQL, dbt, Airflow, Terraform and cloud-native tech.
• Set testing, monitoring, incident response, and cost-optimization standards.
• Review code and architecture to ensure quality and maintainability.
