Job summary

MatchPoint Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing IT engineering services team in the San Ramon, CA area. This role focuses on building cloud-based data storage and pipelines using Snowflake and collaborating with federated data teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL skills, experience with ETL tools, and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Proven experience with Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, or equivalents).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Role: Senior Data Engineer

Contract Length: 12+ Months

Location: San Ramon, CA area and willing to be onsite once per week.

Rate: $65/hr on W2

What Will You Be Doing?

• Minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Proven experience with Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.

• Hands‑on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, or equivalents).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Informatica experience (nice to have).
• Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization tools.
• Exposure to orchestration tools.
