Job summary

MatchPoint Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing IT engineering services team in the San Ramon, CA area. This role focuses on building cloud-based data storage and pipelines using Snowflake and collaborating with federated data teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL skills, experience with ETL tools, and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience.
• Proven experience with Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, or equivalents).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize cloud-based data storage and processing solutions using Snowflake.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Collaborate with federated teams and data engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Ensure data integrity and security across all workflows and storage solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Develop reusable, modular stored procedures and scripts for data processing.
• Contribute to developing and implementing data governance best practices.
• Support metadata management, data quality processes, and enterprise data standards.
