Job description

Senior Data Engineer - Remote

The healthcare data scientist is responsible for building algorithms using Python, R, and structured query language (SQL) to identify cases of fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in the healthcare system. This role requires a combination of technical skills and healthcare expertise. The essential functions include:

  1. Identifying relevant, available, and useful data for developing data models
  2. Collecting, categorizing, and analyzing data for model development
  3. Applying SQL and machine learning techniques to develop FWA detection models
  4. Visualizing results and creating dashboards for fraud investigators
  5. Presenting findings to investigators and management to inform stakeholders
  6. Testing algorithms and models for accuracy and efficiency
  7. Sharing knowledge and expertise with team members and stakeholders
  8. Operationalizing data models across teams, monitoring, and refining as needed
  9. Explaining predictive analytics, models, and algorithms to technical and non-technical audiences
  10. Defining technical requirements to address business problems
  11. Performing additional duties as assigned
Requirements:

Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field with a computational focus. This position is fully remote.
