I am partnering with a leading consumer technology company to hire a Senior Data Engineer for their Core Engineering Data Team. This is a hybrid US-based role in Boston (2 days in office, 3 days remote).

Role Description

You’ll design and implement data systems powering analytics, ML, and engineering applications. If you’re passionate about building reliable data products, automating workflows, and working in cloud environments, this is a fantastic opportunity!

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines, orchestration, storage, and analytics infrastructure
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and product teams on data workflows
• Optimize data structures and ensure data quality, security, and governance
• Contribute to team practices, norms, and standards

Requirements

• 4+ years in software/data engineering, with 2+ years in data infrastructure
• Strong SQL and Python skills, experience with ETL/ELT and data lakes
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect), CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes
• Familiarity with JSON, Parquet, Avro, Iceberg

Nice to Haves

• Experience with IoT or consumer tech
• Knowledge of streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Spark)
• Experience with cloud cost optimization
