A fast-growing fintech platform is seeking a Senior Director of Data Engineering to lead and modernize its data infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability. This fully remote role offers a competitive salary range of $200k to $240k per year. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in high-scale data environments, cloud-native architectures like AWS, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform. You will have a direct impact on significant financial products, shaping the company's data strategy and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading data engineering or platform teams in high-scale environments.
• Deep experience with cloud-native data architectures (AWS preferred).
• Strong background in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform required).
• Expertise with modern data warehouses and orchestration tools (e.g., Redshift, Airflow).
• Experience building reliable ETL/ELT pipelines and data governance frameworks.
• Track record of balancing hands-on technical execution with strategic leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own and modernize the data engineering and infrastructure stack.

THE ROLE

As Senior Director of Data Engineering, you will be the most senior data leader in the organization, owning the strategy, reliability, and scalability of the company’s data platform. You will build and modernize the systems that power finance, compliance, product, and operational decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and modernizing the data engineering and infrastructure stack
• Building highly reliable, regulatory-grade data systems
• Designing scalable data warehousing, modeling, and governance frameworks
