Job summary

Huxley is partnering with a leading investment management firm in Boston to hire a Senior Data Engineer. The role focuses on a next-generation cloud data platform, building scalable pipelines, and enabling enterprise-wide analytics on AWS, Snowflake, DBT, and Python.

You'll contribute to data architecture design, implement robust data solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision making in a hybrid onsite environment in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

  • Experience building cloud-native data solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong Python and SQL development for data pipelines.
  • Expertise with Snowflake and DBT for ELT processes.
  • Proficiency with AWS services and production cloud apps.
  • Designing data warehouses and scalable data models for analytics.
  • Experience building high-volume data ingestion and transformations.
  • Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering and business teams on architecture.
  • Experience in asset management or financial services is advantageous.

Job description

Key Skills & Experience
  • Modern cloud data platforms: Proven experience building and maintaining cloud-native data solutions within enterprise environments.

  • Python & SQL expertise: Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience developing data pipelines, transformations, stored procedures, and scalable data applications.

  • Snowflake & DBT: Deep experience designing and implementing ELT processes using modern data stack technologies.

  • AWS ecosystem: Strong understanding of AWS services and experience developing, deploying, and supporting production-grade cloud applications.

  • Data modelling & warehousing: Expertise designing data warehouses, operational data stores, and scalable data models that support analytics and business reporting.

  • Data pipeline development: Track record building reliable, high-volume ingestion and transformation frameworks from source systems through consumption layers.

  • Workflow orchestration: Experience with scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Control-M, or similar technologies.

  • Analytics & business intelligence: Exposure to reporting, dashboarding, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is beneficial.

  • Technical leadership: Ability to collaborate across engineering and business teams while contributing to architectural decisions and platform strategy.

  • Financial services experience: Experience within asset management, investment management, capital markets, or related industries is advantageous.
