Job summary

Specialist Staffing Group is hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Boston, MA, a hybrid role focusing on building and scaling a modern cloud data ecosystem for an investment management firm. You will design data architecture and deliver production-grade pipelines and data products on a modern data stack to support enterprise analytics.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL, plus experience orchestrating workloads with Airflow or Control-M and

Huxley is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a Boston-based role focused on building and scaling a modern cloud data ecosystem at an investment management firm. This hybrid position supports enterprise analytics and decision-making by designing data architecture and delivering production-grade pipelines and data products on a modern data stack.

The work includes creating reliable ingestion and transformation frameworks, implementing ELT processes, and developing cloud-native solutions that connect source systems to consumption layers for business reporting. You will collaborate with engineering and business teams while contributing to architectural decisions and platform strategy.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and maintaining cloud-native data solutions within enterprise environments
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands‑on experience building data pipelines, transformations, stored procedures, and scalable data applications
• Deep experience designing and implementing ELT processes using modern data stack technologies
• Strong understanding of AWS and experience developing, deploying, and supporting production-grade cloud applications
• Expertise designing data warehouses, operational data stores, and scalable data models supporting analytics and business reporting
• Track record building reliable, high-volume ingestion and transformation frameworks from source systems through consumption layers
• Experience with scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Control-M, or similar technologies
• Exposure to Tableau or Power BI is beneficial
• Ability to collaborate across engineering and business teams while contributing to architectural decisions and platform strategy
• Experience in asset management, investment management, capital markets, or related industries is advantageous

• Base salary: USD 165,000 - 185,000 per year
