Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Data Communication Specialist Senior to join its team. The role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence four to five days per week with occasional work-from-home opportunities.

You will maintain and support data communications equipment across UPMC facilities, coordinate with ISD teams and vendors, travel to physician sites as needed, and help ensure reliable network services and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and supporting data communications equipment across facilities.
• Ability to travel to physician sites for onsite installations and issue resolution.
• Experience providing Level II ISD on-call support and coordinating with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot network issues using knowledge of topologies, hardware, and protocols.
• Design, install, support, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, voice and data networks.
• Provide Level II ISD on-call support; coordinate with NOC and vendors; communicate status.
• Create and publish network documentation including wiring closet configurations and guides.
• Manage specialized service requests; conduct site surveys; advise on cabling standards.
• Keep the project manager informed of status and unresolved issues.
• Record time spent on projects and service requests per policy.
