Job summary

Google Stillwater, OK is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, and maintain hardware and server software in a fast-paced environment. You will work with networks and complex components, participate in small projects, and help ensure reliability of Google's physical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with servers, Linux, and data-center operations, plus the ability to lift heavy loads and work non-standard hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Experience with performing component-level repairs on IT equipment.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and work physically over extended periods.
• Must have the ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software.
• Configure networks, routers, hubs, switches and related protocols.
• Participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations.
• Develop contingency plans and physically move/install racks as part of daily tasks.
