Job summary

Fermi America is seeking a Senior Data Center Technical Specialist to serve as the technical authority for data center engineering and infrastructure across Fermi’s hyperscale program.

This role oversees electrical, mechanical, controls, fire protection, and building management systems to ensure design standards, equipment specifications, and vendor commitments produce constructible, maintainable, and reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data center engineering or critical-infrastructureDelivery
• 8+ years in hyperscale or mission-critical environments
• Deep knowledge across data center MEP, power, cooling, controls
• Experience with lump-sum turnkey/design-build delivery
• Experience as owner’s technical representative
• Vendor-management and procurement experience
• Excellent communication in a matrix organization

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority across all data center MEP disciplines.
• Review design deliverables for conformance with the basis of design and standards.
• Own vendor-qualification processes for critical equipment.
• Drive technical standardization across the program.
• Interface with tenant tech reps to resolve challenges while protecting design integrity.
• Coordinate with campus Engineering Team across building packages.
• Lead technical escalation for RFIs and substitution requests.
• Ensure operability and turnover readiness from a technical perspective.
