Job summary

Fermi America is seeking a Director of Data Center Construction to lead owner’s representation and field execution oversight for Fermi’s hyperscale program. You will interface with GC and tenant leadership, ensuring delivery meets quality, schedule, and budget across multiple campus buildings.

The role requires 18+ years in large-scale construction, strong GMP/EPC contract experience, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• 18+ years in progressive construction management with hyperscale data center exposure.
• Owner’s representative or senior construction lead on multi-building programs.
• Strong GMP, lump-sum, and EPC contract experience including change orders.
• Peak craft workforce over 1,000 personnel across large construction programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner's representative to GC and tenant leadership for data center construction.
• Lead DC project managers across concurrent building phases to substantial completion.
• Drive accountability for milestones, progress tracking, and schedule across shell, core, MEP, and enclosure.
• Own the GC-tenant relationship at program level; manage escalations and priorities.
• Oversee GMP and contract administration, including change orders and pay applications.
• Coordinate with Sr Design/Engineering to keep packages construction-ready.
• Establish and enforce field quality standards, safety protocols, and inspections.
• Implement earned value and progress measurement for real-time visibility.
• Partner to ensure smooth transitions from preconstruction to active construction.
• Support commissioning readiness with IT load delivery timelines.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardize processes across phases.
• Foster a high-trust culture across procurement, safety, quality, and controls.
