Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff Data Center Systems Engineer, R&D, in Denver, CO, to serve as the senior technical authority defining Crusoe’s data center architecture. You will evaluate next-generation technologies, lead system-wide integration concepts, and guide them from bench-scale evaluation to production deployment and hyperscale rollout.

You will collaborate across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains, build reference architectures, and drive feasibility assessments,

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center design, large-scale infrastructure, or industrial power systems.
• Systems thinking across electrical, mechanical, thermal, compute domains.
• Broad knowledge of power generation, cooling, data center facilities, and compute networking.

Responsibilities

• Define next-generation data center reference architectures across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains.
• Lead industry scanning and technology evaluations with startups, vendors, and research labs.
• Define and maintain system-level architecture governing Crusoe’s infrastructure layers.
• Guide pilot-to-hyperscale progression with defined criteria and milestones.
• Lead R&D architectural decisions and provide senior technical input for go/no-go on emerging tech.
• Author high-level specifications, interface documents, and integration standards.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate R&D outputs into production-ready designs.
• Build relationships with external providers and research groups for early access to new tech.
• Strategically advise leadership on technology directions and market trends.
