Job summary

SpaceX in Memphis seeks a Sr. Supplier Development Engineer for data center hardware. You will drive supplier development from concept to production, focusing on rack-level solutions and high-density compute integration.

You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing, applying reliability, thermal, and electrical principles to optimize data center performance and uptime. This role requires onsite work in Bastrop, Memphis, or Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in data center hardware design, integration, or manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data center hardware and processes from a first principles, physics-based approach.
• Own complex rack-level solutions and system-level design decisions across mechanical, electrical, power, thermal, networking, and software domains.
• Lead the integration of Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) principles into data center strategy and architecture.
• Provide guidance on rack infrastructure including PDUs, cooling systems, airflow design, and high-density compute integration.
• Develop hardware qualification criteria and drive system-level optimization for high-volume installation.
