Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent for a large hyperscale Data Center project in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role will oversee subcontractors and field teams, manage safety, and partner with the Project Manager to keep the project on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years as a Project Superintendent, GC experience, and a strong track record mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Project Superintendent experience in commercial construction.
• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring a team.
• Experience in Data Center Construction strongly preferred.
• Ability to read/interpret construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractors and field teams on site.
• Maintain project safety per policy.
• Develop and update the project schedule and resources.
• Prepare two-week look-ahead schedules.
• Oversee daily construction to meet quality, timeline, and budget.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure contract compliance and safety.
• Conduct site inspections and address quality issues.
• Identify and resolve issues to maintain momentum.
• Update schedules using scheduling software.
• Assist buyout and selection of major subs.
• Oversee execution including schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Supervise field personnel and subcontractors.
• Enforce strict safety protocols.
• Maintain communication with managers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate subcontractors' field forces.
• Communicate with owners, designers, engineers and internal team.
• Maintain cost reports.
• Ensure paperwork is complete and timely.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
• Support team development and growth.
• Foster positive relationships with internal and external parties.
