You’ll set operating standards for the US footprint and work with infra engineers on rack design, density, and peering while ensuring on-time delivery and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building out or operating data centers or bare metal fleets.
• Strong understanding of power, cooling, density, and high-speed networking.
• Experience deploying hardware at scale with colo providers.
• Proficiency with Linux and MacOS.
• Ability to communicate clearly across time zones with a distributed team.
• Located near Ashburn, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Own the data center build-out and expansion, from site selection and cage design through go-live and steady-state operations.
• Work through power budgets, cooling, and density with colocation providers.
• Deploy and maintain racks: compute, memory and storage optimized servers, and cabling.
• Work with our infrastructure engineers on rack design, network capacity, and peering, feeding what you learn on the floor back into the next design revision.
• Own data center operations from purchase order to production: procure hardware, manage delivery and logistics, and run the site day to day with runbooks, maintenance, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
• Manage hardware and datacenter vendors, contractors, and SLAs, and hold them to the same bar we hold ourselves.
• Act as the bridge between the site, the team in Europe, and leadership, keeping timelines and risks visible.
