Job summary

Namespace Labs is seeking a Senior Data Center Operations Lead in Ashburn, VA to own the build-out of our US footprint, manage power, cooling, racks, and vendor relationships.

You will collaborate with Europe and US teams to translate capacity plans into on-site realities, drive reliability, and establish runbooks and incident response. Strong Linux and MacOS familiarity and cross-timezone communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building out or operating data centers or large-scale bare metal fleets.
• Knowledge of power distribution, cooling, high-density racks, and high-speed networking.
• Experience deploying hardware at scale with colos, contractors, and vendors.
• Proficient with Linux and macOS.
• Clear communication and ownership across time zones.
• Based near Ashburn, Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Own data center build-out and expansion from site selection through go-live and steady-state operations.
• Manage power budgets, cooling, and density with colocation providers.
• Deploy and maintain racks, compute, memory and storage servers, and cabling.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers on rack design, network capacity, and peering.
• Oversee procurement, delivery, logistics, and runbooks for day-to-day site operations.
• Manage hardware vendors and SLAs, ensuring consistent standards.
• Bridge the site with Europe and leadership, keeping timelines and risks visible.
