Job summary

SSOE Group in Toledo, Ohio is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Data Centers to lead mechanical design for mission-critical facilities and AI factory environments. You will collaborate with in-house engineering and architecture teams to drive projects from scope through commissioning.

The role requires a PE, 12+ years in mechanical engineering with data center experience, and proficiency in HVAC, piping, and building systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• PE license with the ability to register in additional states.
• At least 12 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in data centers.
• Experience with HVAC, chilled water, air handling, containment, and related mechanical building systems.
• Proficiency with Revit.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and passport for travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical discipline on multi-location data center design projects with strong client engagement.
• Ensure contracted scope, schedule, and budget are met; manage resources.
• Develop plans, drawings, specs for piping, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and clean/dry rooms.
• Maintain effective communication with project teams and clients.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and use design software to complete tasks.
• Ensure quality, manage changes, and perform site visits.
