Job summary

Jabil is seeking a senior Liquid Cooling Systems Engineer to serve as the internal SME for cooling technologies in data center hardware. You will guide design, validation, and production across rack/server platforms, partnering with systems, electrical, and software teams to drive scalable, high-reliability solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers and help implement data-driven maintenance, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy use and optimize manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with liquid cooling, chilled water, or glycol-based systems in product or manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting data center hardware, server platforms, or high-density compute systems, or similarly complex, high-reliability engineered systems (pharma, food & beverage, distillery).
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Proficiency in process control systems, instrumentation, and sensors.
• Experience with DMAIC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001) and regulatory compliance affecting engineering-driven process control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable engineering improvements.
• Ability to drive cross-functional change using data.

Responsibilities

• Optimize cooling and fluid handling processes to improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability.
• Lead the engineering, optimization, and scaling of liquid cooling processes supporting the manufacturing of data center rack and server solutions.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in production and cooling workflows.
• Design, configure, and monitor process performance during manufacturing and operations.
• Develop and maintain detailed engineering process documentation, including P&IDs, schematics, and layouts (pumps, compressors, chillers, CDUs, sensors, valves).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of cooling into complex server and rack-level architectures.
• Drive engineering improvements to enhance thermal performance, system reliability, and manufacturing efficiency, while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
• Monitor key parameters (pressure, temperature, flow rate, glycol concentration) via BMS.
• Use data-driven methods to predict failures, optimize system performance, and support preventative maintenance strategies.
• Develop and manage maintenance plans for process assets.
• Collaborate with EHS on SOPs for safety, leak mitigation, waste disposal, and fluid handling.
• Conduct CTQ analyses and risk assessments.
• Own lifecycle management of cooling subsystems and process equipment, from development through production and deployment.
• Support commissioning and validation of new systems and upgrades.
