Job summary

Catapult Federal Services seeks a Senior Data Infrastructure Consultant in Sherman, TX to lead data center and fiber backbone design engagements. The role requires ownership of complex deliverables and mentoring of junior engineers.

Local candidates are strongly preferred, with remote consideration for qualified applicants. You will coordinate with electrical/mechanical teams, ensure code compliance, and present to clients and executives, shaping technical direction on large-scale telecom

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in data infrastructure, structured cabling, and/or data center design.
• RCDD certification — required; additional BICSI or CDCDP credentials a strong plus.
• Deep expertise in fiber backbone design (single-mode, multi-mode, campus and enterprise-scale).
• Extensive data center experience including Tier classification standards, power/cooling pathways, and hot/cold aisle design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent design tools for infrastructure documentation.
• Strong working knowledge of standards (TIA-942, BICSI-002, TIA-568/569).
• Proven track record of leading design efforts and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present to clients/executives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for data center and fiber backbone infrastructure design engagements.
• Lead end-to-end design activities: site assessments, schematic design, design development, construction docs.
• Own complex design deliverables and reduce burden on senior leadership.
• Produce and review structured cabling drawings, rack elevations, pathway plans, and related docs.
