Job summary

DigitalOcean, LLC in Atlanta, GA seeks a Senior Data Center Engineer to maintain and grow our physical cloud infrastructure onsite. You will handle drive replacements, server and network hardware setup, and participate in moving and deploying new data centers globally.

You will diagnose hardware and Linux OS issues, manage inventory and shipments, and contribute to ongoing operational improvements. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 10–15% are required, with on‑call rotations

Qualifications

Experience deploying and maintaining data center infrastructure.
Strong Linux OS knowledge and shell scripting.
Willingness to travel 10–15% and work onsite at data centers.
Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Deploying and maintaining data center infrastructure including racks, servers, switches, and storage.
Submit RMAs and manage equipment shipping to remote locations.
Track remote work requests and manage server inventory.
Diagnose hardware issues and perform upgrades and rebuilds as needed.
Debug network, hardware, and Linux OS related issues; maintain inventory.
