Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join our onsite team. You will deploy, maintain, and expand the physical infrastructure across data centers, including rack mounting, power distribution, switches, and server hardware to support our cloud platform.

This role requires hands-on hardware work, strong Linux and networking troubleshooting, and the ability to travel 10-15% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying, maintaining data center infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting in networking, hardware, and Linux.
• Proficient with Linux OS and CLI.
• Willingness to travel 10-15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and maintaining Data Center infrastructure.
• Racking, stacking and wiring servers, power distribution units, and switches.
• Installing servers, switches, routers, and storage hardware.
• Submitting RMA to equipment manufacturers and shipping and receiving gear to and from remote locations and vendors.
• Submitting and tracking remote work requests and managing server and component inventory.
• Diagnosing and repairing hardware and performing upgrades, integrations, rebuilds and other projects as needed.
• Debugging network, hardware, and Linux OS related issues.
• Inventory and asset management.
