Job summary

DigitalOcean seeks a Data Center Engineer to join our onsite team in the EAT region. You will deploy and maintain critical data center infrastructure, rack and wire servers, manage inventory, and coordinate remote work logistics across locations.

You’ll diagnose hardware and network issues, perform upgrades, and participate in on‑call rotations to keep systems running smoothly. The role requires mobility, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Experience in deploying, maintaining, and working in a data center environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking, hardware, GPU and Linux OS.
• Proficient in Linux OS with terminal/CLI usage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaborative mindset.
• Experience submitting remote work requests and managing server inventory.
• Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically/internationally (10%–15%).
• Ability to remain on your feet and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deploying and maintaining Data Center infrastructure.
• Racking, stacking and wiring servers, power distribution units, and switches.
• Installing servers, switches, routers, and storage hardware.
• Submitting RMA to equipment manufacturers and shipping/receiving gear to/from remote locations.
• Submitting and tracking remote work requests and managing inventory.
• Diagnosing and repairing hardware and performing upgrades and rebuilds as needed.
• Debugging network, hardware, and Linux OS related issues.
• Inventory and asset management.
