Job summary

U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) in Rockville, MD seeks a Senior Data Center Engineer to monitor and maintain our enterprise data center and ensure uptime of infrastructure and applications.

You will manage capacity planning, patching, DR planning, and coordinate with vendors during projects. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documenting architectures while supporting enterprise systems across Windows and Linux environments with VMware virtualization and HA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field and 7+ years of progressive data center experience.
• Experience deploying and managing virtualization with VMware on Windows and Linux.
• Strong background in high availability clusters and SAN.
• Proficiency with multiple databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with middleware (Apache, Tomcat, PHP, NodeJS) and web protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain USP's enterprise data center operations.
• Oversee data center support, break/fix and new installations.
• Coordinate with vendors and services for projects and R&D initiatives.
• Maintain data center documentation, patch management, and DR planning.
