Job summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for data center projects. This role emphasizes design of electrical systems, multidisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to codes. A PE license or active licensure pursuit is preferred.

Remote work is available, with hybrid options for candidates near an office. Qualified applicants bring 5+ years of experience and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience (8+ years preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
• Experience with data center projects preferred.
• Experience with mission-critical facilities or substation engineering is highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for data center and mission-critical projects.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations and analyses.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.
• Investigate and troubleshoot engineering issues, developing practical solutions.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and project stakeholders.
• Support projects from design through completion while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.
