Job summary

Rosendin is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer III in Sterling, VA to provide senior engineering support for high-profile AI-ready data center projects. You will mentor staff, coordinate with architects, structural and mechanical teams, and ensure compliance with codes and project specifications.

The role requires a PE license, at least 5 years of engineering experience, and strong REVIT/Autodesk skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences.
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of Engineering Experience.
One-year on-site field experience strongly encouraged.
Licensure as a US-based Professional Engineer is required.
Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Design world class Data Center for the future of AI in collaboration with other engineers.
Proficiently use REVIT and related Autodesk tools.
Oversee a team of engineers, designers, and staff on projects or initiatives.
May serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects.
Supervise, review, and process equipment and system submittals.
Coordinate electrical, architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing work.
Oversee the preparation of power, lighting, and auxiliary systems designs.
Prepare power system single-line diagrams, feeder sizing, and equipment elevations.
Supervise short circuit and arc flash studies and device coordination.
Perform distribution analysis including voltage drop and Neher-McGrath calculations.
Oversee project specifications or equipment procurement.
Visit job sites to survey existing electrical conditions.
Utilize engineering analysis programs to assess loads and lighting.”
Conduct value engineering to optimize construction costs.
Attend design team meetings with clients and contractors.
Coordinate design criteria with budget and schedule with Rosendin PM.
Investigate drawing interpretation issues and conflicts.
Generate project specifications and sequence of operations.
Apply testing and commissioning knowledge.
Review plans, specs, and estimates for projects.
Manage design progress and coordinate with authorities.
Oversee plans, specifications, schedules, and electrical work coordination.
Prepare commissioning documentation for buildings.
Resolve complex design problems and conflicts.
