Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Reno, NV, seeks a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost control on a large-scale hyperscale data center project. You will provide robust cost estimating, change management, and financial reporting, interfacing daily with design teams, contractors, and client project managers.

The role requires 5–7+ years in cost management for complex builds, strong client-facing skills, and familiarity with procurement and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
• 5-7+ years of experience in construction cost management.
• Experience supporting medium to large-scale, complex construction projects (data centers, industrial, or mission-critical).
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Working toward or holding RICS accreditation preferred.
• Strong understanding of procurement, value management, and cost control practices.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide cost estimating and planning, including producing and presenting final cost plans.
• Collaborate with design teams and general contractors in the development of cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and support contractors to ensure cost data accuracy.
• Interface with general contractors and client/project managers to gather status updates and prepare cost reports.
• Prepare written comments on contractor submissions, including executive summaries.
