Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Project Manager Data Center Construction to lead day-to-day activities across multiple multi-megawatt data center builds. You will manage budgets, schedules, and coordination with contractors from procurement to commissioning.

Requirements include 8+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree, knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, BMS/EMS, and security systems, plus willingness to travel within the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience required
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, BMS/EMS, and security systems is essential
• Experience tracking pre-construction, mobilization, construction documents, permitting, commissioning, and closeout
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license
• Knowledge of construction law and business practices; proficient with MS Project

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities across multiple multi-megawatt data center projects
• Develop project schedules with engineering teams and track critical paths from equipment purchase through installation and completion
• Manage budgets, track spending, and handle service order scope changes
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms, local codes, and OSHA regulations
• Provide regular progress reports on timelines, budgets, and construction status
• Collaborate with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to drive project execution
