Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Construction Manager to lead data center MEP site activities in South Hill, VA. You will oversee day-to-day onsite work, coordinate civil and MEP trades, ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and manage subcontractors and field teams.

Qualifications include 7+ years in ground-up construction, strong civil and MEP experience, and proven ability to drive schedules and coordinate underground utilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction experience in superintendent/senior superintendent or construction manager roles.
• Strong experience managing ground-up construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in civil construction and MEP.
• Experience with underground electrical, plumbing, and utility infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate field activities.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety, quality control, and onsite execution.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day onsite construction activities for ground-up projects, ensuring safety, schedule and quality.
• Supervise civil construction activities including site prep, earthwork, foundations, and underground utilities.
• Coordinate underground electrical, plumbing, and other utility installations.
• Manage and coordinate MEP construction activities, including mechanical and electrical systems installation.
• Coordinate general contractors, subcontractors, field teams, and stakeholders to maintain progress.
• Monitor project schedules, identify delays, resolve field issues, and ensure milestones.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and safety standards.
• Support inspections, testing, commissioning readiness, and handover activities.
