Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Construction Manager, Data Center Construction in Louisiana to lead major data center builds. You will own scope, schedule, budget, and safety, coordinating with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning across multiple sites.

You’ll guide a diverse team of engineers and trades, representing Amazon on site from start to hand-off. The role emphasizes leadership in construction management, cost control, and stakeholder coordination, with a focus on

Qualifications

• Experience in construction of data center delivery and mission critical facilities.
• Experience constructing electrical distribution gear and cooling systems.
• Experience in construction management of large, complex MEP projects.
• Experience in project control and formulating construction programmes, especially for infrastructure and mission critical projects both on-site and in preconstruction environments.

Responsibilities

• Own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget for construction of new builds or general capital projects.
• Own construction project management and oversight of construction related activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that support customers.
• Be a leader in your discipline (construction management, building services, architectural, electrical or mechanical engineering).
• Represent Amazon’s owner’s representative on construction sites daily and interact with construction trades.
• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, punch list, and closeout phases.
• Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids and proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Manage and drive cost, schedule, and quality while managing contractors and vendors.
• Perform construction project management activities including documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoices, quality, scope, and schedule.
• Drive construction teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause failure analyses on equipment.
