Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Senior Constructability Engineer to guide design through construction and into operations.

You will serve as a bridge between Design Engineering and field teams, delivering pragmatic engineering support and driving consistency in roles and accountability. The role requires deep data center knowledge, hands-on construction experience, and the ability to push standardisation across regional teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Global Constructability team and the global Construction Management teams to ensure consistency of approach.
• Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation
• Drive commissionability improvements in our designs.
• Drive process improvements in the hand off from design to construction/commissioning
• Optimise the engineering input post design completion - driving consistent roles and responsibilities and accountability.
• Work closely with regional engineering teams to drive consistency
• Act as the initial point of escalation for complex constructability issues.
• 25% regional travel, sometimes unplanned.
