Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Constructability Engineer in Seattle, WA to oversee the design-to-construction process for AWS global infrastructure.

The role focuses on ensuring constructability, commissioning readiness, and cross-team alignment from design through handoff to operations. You will partner with design engineering, regional teams, and construction management to drive improvements, manage complex issues, and travel regionally as needed to support projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Global Constructability team and the global Construction Management teams to ensure consistency of approach.
• Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation.
• Drive commissionability improvements in our designs.
• Drive process improvements in the hand off from design to construction/commissioning.
• Optimize the engineering input post design completion - driving consistent roles and responsibilities and accountability.
• Work closely with regional engineering teams to drive consistency.
• Act as the initial point of escalation for complex constructability issues.
• Travel ~25% regionally, sometimes unplanned.
