Job summary

Meade is a full-service design firm seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer Lead to provide on-site technical leadership for commissioning of mission-critical data center facilities. This role will lead field execution of L0–L6, ensuring safe, high-quality, and timely delivery of MEP systems through rigorous testing, verification, and handover.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of building systems commissioning with demonstrated leadership across L0-L6 for data centers.
• 1+ years of hands-on leadership mentoring field teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, chillers, UPS, generators, MV electrical, BMS, and control sequences.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE codes and standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and CxAlloy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site technical authority for full commissioning (L0–L6) of MEP systems in mission-critical data centers.
• Translate the Commissioning Plan into site-specific execution scripts, tests, and performance tests.
• Lead day-to-day commissioning activities including IST, startup, energization, and turnover.
• Own the site commissioning schedule and drive milestones toward project timelines.
• Troubleshoot complex issues during commissioning and startup phases and resolve promptly.
• Mentor and develop junior Commissioning Engineers and field staff in testing and safety practices.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients to witness testing and resolve conflicts.
• Ensure all work complies with Meade standards and relevant codes; maintain logs and reports.
• Manage site-level resources and expenditures within the allocated budget; report to PM.
• Champion safety culture and lead by example during energized work.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement of commissioning processes.
